New battery material -Quinone.

An organic molecule called Quinone, could reduce by two thirds the cost of energy storing material in a battery ,which is well suited for storing large amount of energy.By using this new material could help wind and solar power to go big.
Harvard University researchers are the developers of this new type of battery and it can store a couple of days of electricity from wind farms or other source of energy .The new battery is made up of an organic molecule called Quinone - that found in plants such as rhubarb and can cheaply synthesis from crude oil.
If it solves problem of intermittency of power source like wind and solar ,the technology will make it possible to rely far more heavily on renewable energy .such batteries definitely reduce number of power plants in the grid by allowing them to work more efficiently .
Michael Aziz who led the work in the Harvard University says the Quinone will cut the energy storage material cost down to $27 per kilowatt hour.
