Electric potential at a point is defined as the work done in bringing a unit positive charge from infinity to that point against the field . Potential difference between two points is defined as the work done in transporting unit positive charge from one point to another .Electric potential is denoted by V.The SI unit of both potential and potential difference is volts( joules /coulomb )
